Occasional Randomness #14 - Looney Tunes! (Farscape S03E16)

Farscape throws us a curveball this time around with season 3, episode 16 - Revenging Angel. We get to learn all about D'Argo's new ship they picked up way back at the start of season 3. But not before D'Argo gets a little upset and knocks Crichton into a coma... oops. And then things get weird, with Crichton in an animated dreamscape doing his own version of Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner cartoons being chased by D'Argo. And all the while Harvey is there, telling Crichton he needs to take his revenge on D'Argo for what he did to him.  Let the hijinks ensue! Oh and in the real world, D'Argo's new ship has decided to self destruct in less than an arn unless they can stop it.

Next up in our Farscape rewatch — "Back and Back and Back to the Future".  Surprisingly not all three movies about a kid and his time travelling DeLorean. More like Groundhog Day, where Crichton relives the same day over and over until he gets it right and saves Moya and her crew.
We conclude with "Thank God It’s Friday, Again".  Surprisingly not another Groundhog Day episode given the title. Who’s forcing an entire population to farm Tannot root for them?  And what’s someone got to do to have a day off?  And which "bug in the navel" idea came first — this episode or the Matrix?

Occasional Randomness #13 - Can I Get Some 10,000 SPF Sunscreen, Please? (Farscape S03E15 - Secret Invasion S01E05-06)

We conclude the next epic Farscape multipart story with season 3 episode 15, Infinite Possibilities, Part 2: Icarus Abides. This one has it all -- action, explosions, dune buggy chases, and plot twists galore! We finally have our first look at what a wormhole weapon is capable of and it more than lives up to the hype.  Unfortunately things do not go so well for Jack and Crichton while dealing with it. We discuss all that and the aftermath for Aeryn when they finally get back to Moya and have to deal with the other Crichton.
Then after that exciting episode of Farscape, we cover another exciting episode of Secret Invasion, episode 5 - Harvest, and then we cover the (not so) exiciting finale, episode 6 - Home. Things shape up for an epic finale and then they kind of disappoint us and fail to bring it all to a satisfactory conclusion. But maybe that was their plan all along. See where we think the MCU might go next.

Occasional Randomness - Farscape Flashback #2 - Space Roach Motel (Farscape S01E03-04)

We continue our rewatch of Farscape season one. Up first, Exodus from Genesis, where the crew must deal with two invaders, the potentially dangerous Drak and the definitely dangerous Peacekeeper Commandos. Can they get both groups off Moya before Aeryn succumbs to Sebacean Heat Delirium?
Then we review Throne for a Loss, Farscape’s "very special episode". The crew must deal with kidnapping, drug addiction and its after effects. Remember kids, just say "no" to space drug injecting gauntlets!

Occasional Randomness #12 - The Secret is Out! (Farscape S03E14 - Secret Invasion S01E04)

We start the second two parter of Farscape season 3 -- episode 14, Infinite Possibilities, Part 1: Daedalus Demands. And like all Farscape multi-part episodes, this one does not dissapoint. The Talyn crew run into some old friends, Jack, the Ancient who gave Crichton some subconscious wormhole knowledge back in season 1, and Furlow, the mechanic who Crichton gave some wormhole readings to even earlier in season 1. And that's not a coincidence. Furlow has managed to find a way to traverse wormholes safely and that knowledge could soon belong to the Scarrans. Jack is here to stop that any way he can.
After that we discuss episode 4 of Secret Invasion -- Beloved. Nick Fury is getting his groove back as a spy master and getting closer to finding out what Gravik is up to with his plans to start World War 3. But can he and Talos stop his latest plan in time? And at what cost?

Occasional Randomness #11 - You Just Can’t Trust Anyone Anymore (Farscape S03E13 - Secret Invasion S01E01-03)

On this podcast, Eric and Jason recap and discuss Farscape season 3 episode 13, Scratch 'N Sniff. The Pilot-mandated rest and relaxation doesn't go so well for our crew, of course. But for awhile they do manage to unwind and dance the night away... until they get sucked into some nefarious dealings with some locals and Chiana and Jool get kidnapped. It's Crichton and D'Argo to the rescue, with the "help" of a new friend who has ulterior motives.
And then we switch gears and discuss the first 3 episodes of Secret Invasion on Disney+. Nick Fury has been called back to Earth to deal with a war-like splinter group of shapeshifting Skrulls set on wiping out humanity. But how do you deal with an enemy who can look like your closest allies?

Occasional Randomness #10 - Fun in the Sun (Farscape S3E12)

As we are between the start of other newer TV shows, this time around Eric and Jason just continue their Farscape rewatch with season 3 episode 12, Meltdown. Talyn is being mysteriously drawn into a nearby sun. And the damage caused by trying to escape is emitting some gas that affects the rest of the crew in various ways. On top of that, Stark has found a new friend who's trapped between this life and the afterlife. Can they repair Talyn, save their new friend and get away from the sun before they're destroyed?

Occasional Randomness #9 - Don’t Believe Everything You See and Hear (Farscape S3E11 - Bad Batch S2)

Eric and Jason continue their Farscape rewatch, this time with season 3 episode 11, Incubator. In this Scorpius-centered episode we learn all about our favorite villain's backstory, what makes him tick, and why he really wants the wormhole equations in Crichton's head. Or can we really believe everything he says? In the B-plot, a scientist working on those same wormhole equations defects and offers Crichton the knowledge to safely traverse wormholes without turning into a puddle of goo. Or does she?
We wrap up the episode with our discussion of season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch on Disney+. We discuss the quick replacement of clones with Imperial citizens, the new tidbits about Omega, and our theories about where season 3 and beyond might go given the ending events of season 2.

Occasional Randomness #8 - An Ode to Swamps and Droid Bars (Farscape S3E10 - Mandalorian S3E05-08)

Eric and Jason continue their Farscape rewatch, this time with season 3 episode 10, Relativity. Aeryn and her mother, Xhalax Sun, finally have their long awaited family reunion... in a swamp. It goes about as well as you'd expect, swamp notwithstanding. And in other shocking news, Rygel wants to leave everyone behind once Talyn is healed if they are not back onboard. Inconceivable!
And then we discuss the last half of season 3 of The Mandalorian on Disney+. Where we finally answer that age old question we never knew we needed to know, "Why do droids hang out in bars?". Then once we solve that riddle, we gush over how amazing the rest of the season was and how it wraps up nicely if this is the end of the series. Oh, and we squeal over them name dropping Grand Admiral Thrawn about a dozen times.
